Thanks Jenny!

I received this email today and had to share it with you.

"Hey, I saw your blog in Glamour and thought i'd check out your website... its so amazing, my names jenny and I'm 14 years old and I am facing quite a problem at school because I come to non uniform days wearing different things and get a bit of stick for it, but your website has been a real "chin up" for me because, of all the women you photograph and feature are all gawjuss and different in their own way and i just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work!
Regards,
Jenny
=)"

I'm really happy to team up and do projects with ELLE, Sunday Times STYLE, Topshop etc but I must admit that I'm most proud of ShowMeYourWardrobe when I get an email like this.

Thanks for taking the time to email me Jenny.

x

This is adorable. You never know what Jenny might grow up to be one day, and you inspired her! I bet that's a great feeling :)

'Jackie' magazine in the 70"s used to fulfill this role!

This is great! Wear whatever you want Jenny! I'm sure all the people giving you stick are boring idenikits! Enjoy your own style, life's too short not to.

it's really sweet that your photography and styling inspires her to wear what she wants, and not fade into the background like everyone else does at that age

Such a cliche, but having a tough time at school pretty much guarantees a stylish and successful adult life. I was an odd-ball teenager – reading Vogue and being experimental with my fashion choices – which didn't go down well in a provincial state school. I felt alienated and lonely at the time, but where I am now in my life makes it worth it. I'm so glad I didn't conform! Stick with it Jenny x

That's so cute. I also go to a private school and wear uniforms. In February I get to dress down the whole month though. I totally get what she's saying because though the girls at my school dress nice they don't always go as far into daring and chic fashion.

I wish I'd had been savvy enough to dress however the heck I wanted in high school.. I was surrounded by people who told me it was 'weird' and it was only AFTER I left high school and went to college that I realised that what was dubbed weird in school was considered rather cool and edgy in other circles.
I hope Jenny keeps it up :)

Jenny will be happy with your ratings and your displays of affection. I have a small criticism for you, with all my respect. Some time ago I visit my blog, I applaud your work and consider it inspiring. I've written many times and never heard back. Communication is key, and your readers to appreciate. I've been working 7 months in Elle Spain, and despite the work I mean, I maintain dialogue with all my correspondents, I understand your freedom to do so or not, but if you value your blog, communicate once in a while is pleasant for which we follow you. Sorry the writing is not easy and all with love

Mariona! I've never received an email from you....
Apologies!! I love it when you leave comments, it means a lot to me. Jenny emailed me last night and seeing all these positive comments have meant a lot to her too.

I take on board what you say, thank you for leaving a comment.

I also found your link in Glamour Magazine, and both you and the other links featured in the column have inspired me to set up a blog, and take a new look on fashion.
Thank you, to both you, and Glamour Magazine for such a brilliant article.

HURRAH for people like Jenny, because we all are, deep down. fashion bloggers might seem like unapproachable, ethereal, stylish, popular people, but in my experience they are just like the people who read and WISH they were that way. and that's a compliment, more than anything.
